PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain biased flow of a gas in a gas passage and improve boiler efficiency. SOLUTION: A water tube boiler comprises a first annular row 4 of water tubes having a first opening portion 5 and a second row 9 of water tubes having a second opening 10 portion. The row 9 is arranged outside the first row 4 while a combustion chamber 7 is provided inside the first row 4. Further, a gas passage 12 extending from the first opening portion 5 to the second opening portion 10 is formed between the rows 4, 9. The second row 9 is provided with a plurality of multi-staged flat plate heat transfer fins 14, 14,..., so as to deflect a gas flow toward the first row 4.
