PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent payout clogging in a received coin storage and payout part by automatically rediscriminating a reception rejected coin while taking a remaining matter at the received coin storage and payout part into account. SOLUTION: Coins which are received and sent in are paid out of the received coin storage and payout part 16 of a reception conveyance system 29 in a one-layered one-array state and discriminated by a discrimination part 25. Received genuine coins are temporarily held in received genuine coin temporary holding parts 32 and 37 and reception rejected coins are temporarily held in a reception rejected coin temporary holding part 48. A residue detection sensor detects whether or not a remaining matter is present in the received coin storage and payout part 16. When no remaining matter is detected, the reception rejected coins in the reception rejected coin temporary holding part 48 are rediscriminated by the discrimination part 25 through a reception conveyance system 29. When a remaining matter is detected, the reception rejected coins in the temporary holding part 48 are returned without being rediscriminated.
