PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure detecting system which can simplify a signal transmitting system by surely transmitting the output signal of the pressure sensor of a pressure detecting roll without being affected by noise. SOLUTION: Load cells A1-D8 buried in a pressure detecting roll 6 are arranged in such a way that the positions of the load cells A1-D8 in the axial direction of the roll 6 are made different from each other, and that four load cells (for example, rolls A1, B1, C1, and D1) belonging to systems A, B, C, and D form four sensor rows at the same position in the peripheral direction of the roll 6 at 45 deg. rotational angular intervals of the roll 6. A pressure detecting system is constituted to read the output signals of the load cells A1-D8 at every rotational angle of the roll 6, at which the load cells of each sensor row comes into contact with an object to be detected by using, for example, an encoder. The transmission of signals from the pressure detecting roll 6 side to a stationary side is performed by non-contact serial communication.
