PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the stopping of heating on the way of cooking even while securing safety against overheating. SOLUTION: A stove is provided with a gas amount regulating lever position detecting unit 23 for detecting the position of a gas amount regulating lever for regulating the amount of fuel gas supplied to a gas burner. The amount of gas for supplying to the gas burner is detected in two stages based on the position of the gas amount regulating lever position detecting unit 23 and when the amount of gas is large, a timer 31a having a short time limit is employed to count a limited time while another timer 31b having a long time limit is employed to count the limited time when the amount of gas is small. When the limit time of either one of the timers 31a, 31b is finished, a safety valve 11 is closed to extinguish the fire of the gas burner.
