PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel which is in the shape of a barrier rib, capable of heightening the brightness, isolating discharge spaces, securing gas passage in exhaustion, enhancing the strength of the barrier rib, and forming the barrier rib by the conventional manufacturing techniques. SOLUTION: A plasma display panel has barrier ribs for isolating discharge spaces and consisting of parallel barrier ribs 1a, 1b, 1c and crosswise barrier ribs 2a and 2b perpendicular to the parallel barrier ribs, and the parallel barrier ribs are positioned parallel with an electrode formed on the surface 6 of a substrate, while the crosswise barrier ribs are provided with gaps leading from the top to the surface of the substrate where the barrier rib is formed.
