PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a reading part of a scanner head from dust, dirt or a shock without providing a storing bag, a storing box or the like in addition. SOLUTION: A scanner head cartridge 2 ('scanner HC') for reading an image recorded in an original is mounted to a print head cartridge (not shown in the figure), selectively to a printer (not shown in the figure), for printing the image to a recording medium. An actuator 10 which is provided at a holder 6 of the scanner HC2 rotatably and is capable of moving between a position opposed to the image reading part 5k of the scanner HC2 and a position retracted from the position opposed to the part 5k is provided at the scanner HC2.
