PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for manufacturing a cathode-ray tube and a liquid applying method, capable of forming a uniformly coated surface without contaminating the area surrounding each small hole with the coating liquid, when the simultaneous spout of the liquid is to be started from the small holes. SOLUTION: A coating liquid discharge part 7 is equipped with a plurality of small holes 71, wherefrom a coating liquid is spouted to a glass inner surface 2, and at starting of the spouting, an air bleeding passage 72 provided separately from the small holes 71 is opened prior to feeding the liquid to the discharge part 7, then the liquid is fed to the part 7, and the air inside the part 7 is exhausted to outside together with the liquid from the air bleeding passage 72, followed by shutting of the passage 72.
