PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a natural fold by pressing a bill with an invariably constant pressing force irrelevantly to the number of received bills. SOLUTION: A receiving plate is formed movably at right angles to the stack direction of bills and energizes an energizing means 27 for placing a rotational load between the armature 24 and rotor 23 of an electromagnetic clutch 21. A pressing-in member 4 is connected to a motor 20 through the electromagnetic clutch 21. Then when the electromagnetic clutch 21 is not electrified, the motor 20 is electrified to press bills stacked on the receiving plate by the pressing-in member 4 until they balance with the rotational load generated by the energizing means 27; after the receiving plate is moved back horizontally, the electromagnetic clutch 21 is electrified to transmit the rotation of the motor 20 to the pressing-in member 4 and the bills stacked on the receiving plate are pressed in a bill storage part under the control of a control part 30.
