PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the excessive deformation of a half bead in assembling to heighten sealing performance by disposing an elastic seal member between the half bead and a bead in a gasket forming the half bead comprising an inclined part and the bead projected in arc shape in this order from the end part on a combustion chamber hole side. SOLUTION: This cylinder head gasket 1 interposed between a cylinder head 3 and a cylinder block 4 of an internal combustion engine has a base 10 formed by punching an elastic metal plate such as a stainless steel plate and provided with a plurality of combustion chamber holes 11, cooling water holes, and a plurality of bolt holes around the combustion chamber holes 11. The bead 13 projected in arc shape is formed by pressing around the combustion chamber hole 11, and the half bead 14 reaching a flat part 14a via an inclined part is formed on the inner peripheral side of the bead 13. In this case, an elastic seal member 30 is stuck between the bead 13 and the half bead 14 and made to act as a stopper to prevent the excessive compressive deformation of the half bead 14.
