CATALYST SUPPORT STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of fretting wear to a contact surface of a catalyst with a support hardware by preventing amplification of microvibration through prevention of the occurrence of resonance of the support hardware with the catalyst and to prevent the damage of the catalyst. SOLUTION: A plurality of support hardware 5 fixed at the inner bottom of a basket 3 in a manner to span the inner surface thereof are juxtaposed at intervals of a given distance, and a reinforcing member 6 extending in a direction crossing a horizontal direction and fixed in a manner to span the inner surface of the basket 3 is joined with the lower part of the support hardware 5. The basket 3 is filled with catalysts 8 such that a plurality of the catalysts 8 are placed on the catalyst support part 7 of the support hardware 5. In catalyst support structure described above, the strength of support of the weights of catalysts 8 by the support hardware 5 is ensured, and the disposing pitch of the reinforcing material 6 joined with the lower part of the support hardware 5 is decided such that the natural frequency of the support hardware 5 is deviated from a resonance range with the natural frequency of the catalyst 8.
