PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus capable of accurately testing the capacity of an viscoelastic object for feeding or frictionally separating a sheet for a short time and excellent in reproducibility. SOLUTION: The pressure roller 5 which is rotatably pivoted on an oscillatory arm 4 oscillated around an oscillatory shaft 3 is provided so as to be capable of coming into contact with and separating from the rubber sheet 2 of the object under test fixed on a pedestal 1a and becoming a viscoelastic object. The oscillatory arm 4 is pulled by a spring 6 to be oscillated and the pressure roller 5 is pressed to the rubber sheet 2 and pulled by the plunger 9a of a solenoid 9 to release the pressing of the rubber sheet 2.
