PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system that suppresses concentration of position registration traffic in a wireless zone where mobile stations are concentrated for a particular time or the like and can suppress signal traffic among switch stations and increase in a signal processing load of the switch stations. SOLUTION: When the mobile communication system makes multiple position registration control, a base station forming a wireless zone 124 measures position registration traffic from a mobile station 116, when the measured position registration traffic is lower than a predetermined threshold, the base station does not inform the mobile station 116 about position registration area information of a position registration area 142 bridged over two switch stations 106, 108 in duplicate position registration areas 124, 142 and when the measured position registration traffic is the predetermined threshold or over, the base station informs the mobile station 116 about it.
