PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for performing the washing treatment of a heat exchanger that recovers the functions of the heat exchanger by effectively washing rust, oil contamination, refuse, or the like adhering onto the heat exchanger that is used for already installed air-conditioners or refrigerating machines. SOLUTION: Heated and pressurized releasing alkali washing liquid is irradiated for releasing and washing rust, oil contamination, refuse, or the like adhering to a heat exchanger that is used for already installed air-conditioners or refrigerating machines from the ground of the surface of the heat exchanger, thus recovering the functions of the heat exchanger.
