PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce change in the relative position of a magnetic head and an optical head in the track direction by making smaller a variation of the horizontal relative position of a magnetic field generating part and an optical spot, i.e., a variation incident to the displacement from a prescribed position in the direction vertical to the surface of the magneto optical recording medium, than the displacement quantity of the field generating part from a prescribed position in the direction horizontal to the surface of the magneto optical recording medium. SOLUTION: The magneto optical recording head U is structured such that a magnetic head 5 having a pole P of a field generating part and an optical head 6 for forming a minute optical spot S, which are arranged across a magneto optical recording medium 1, are attached integrally to a connecting member 7. In the magnetic head 5 and the optical head 6, a slider 10 and a lens holder 14 are each attached to the connecting member 7 through a planar first and second supporting members 11, 15 made of an elastic material. In this case, an angle needs to be properly set which is formed individually by the first and second supporting members 11, 15 against the magneto optical recording medium 1.
