PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup capable of preventing a change in the inclining angle of the optical axis of an objective lens when a lens holder is moved in the focusing direction of the objective lens, and thereby preventing the deterioration of the characteristics of the optical pickup. SOLUTION: This optical pickup 1 is provided with a damper base 2, two pairs of suspension wires 3, 3, 4 and 4, one ends thereof being fixed to the damper base 2, a lens holder 5 attached to the other ends of the two pairs of suspension wires 3, 3, 4 and 4, and supported by the two pairs of suspension wires 3, 3, 4 and 4 so as to freely swing and return to a specified position, and an objective lens 6 held in the lens holder 5. The two pairs of suspension wires, 3, 3, 4 and 4 are inclined with respect to a plane H orthogonal to the direction of the optical axis O of the objective lens 6 when the lens holder 5 is in the specified position.
