PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main body of a spinning reel capable of easily oiling its rotor driving mechanism. SOLUTION: The reel body 2a of a spinning reel comprises a main body element 20 having an opening at its side and an storage space inside, a cover element 21 set at the main body 20 with a screw clamp so as to cover up the opening of the main body 20 and a small cover element 22 removably set at the cover element 21. The cover element 21 has a maintenance hole 24 connecting to the outside, for oiling to a rotor driving mechanism 5 installed in the storing space inside the main body 20.
