PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element excellent in moisture impermeability, having durability, easily manufactured, and utilized effectively as a surface light source for a full-color display, a backlight and the like, and a light source array for a printer and the like. SOLUTION: This element has a positive electrode 2, an organic compound layer 3 including a luminescent layer, and a negative electrode 4, on a non- moisture-permeable transparent supporting body 1. The organic compound layer 3 is sealed at least by at least two non-moisture-permeable members, preferably by an air-tight container 6 of a non-moisture-permeable container capable of storing at least the organic compound layer 3 and an air-tight container 7 capable of storing the air-tight container 6 in its inside, via sealing materials 8, 9. |
