PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer ring that has enough durability for practical use and can securely control generation of impulsive sound. SOLUTION: This is a buffer ring 10 attached to one of the opposed faces of a piston 15 and end covers 13, 14 attached to both ends of a cylinder 11, and made to abut on the other of the opposed faces for cushioning impact energy caused by collision of the piston 15 with the end cover 13 or 14. The buffer ring 10 comprises a base member 10a attached to one of the opposed faces and multiple projections 25 formed on the abutment of the base member 10a against the end cover 13, 14, or piston 15, independently to each other in an approximately parallel direction with the reciprocating direction of the piston 15. The multiple projection 25 is provided with annular projections 22, 23, and 24 with a tabular outer shape.
