PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the operator's work load and to simplify apparatus constitu tion. SOLUTION: This photographic film processing apparatus is provided with a pair of rotating bodies 20 for transporting, which hold and transport the photographic films F, a motor M1, which rotationally drives the rotating bodies 20 for transport and a belt 33 which is put on a drive side pulley 31 interlocked to the revolving shaft of the motor M1 and a driven side pulley 31 interlocked to the rotating bodies 20 for transport at a transport route for transporting the photographic films F to a processing section to process the photographic films F. In such a case, the tension acting on the belt 33 is so set that a slip occurs between at least either of the drive side pulley 31 and the driven side pulley 31 and the belt 33 as the transport movement of the photographic films F is blocked by the contact of the photographic films F with other objects.
