PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce blur caused by the thermal deformation of a main body and to obtain an excellent observed image by providing a contact area adjusting member for making contact area between a base part and a frame part small. SOLUTION: This microscope is provided with the contact area adjusting member for making the contact area between the base part 1 and the frame part 2 small, so that the conduction of the heat from the base part 1 to the frame part 2 is reduced. It is conceivable to set a projecting part formed at least on either the base part 1 or the frame part 2 as the contact area adjusting member or a washer as it. For example, a place where a binding member 30 is tightened at the lower part of the frame part 2 is formed on a projecting part 32 so that the contact area between the base part 1 and the frame part 2 may be smaller than the cross-sectional area of the frame part 2. The projecting part 32 is formed so that its cross section may be circular to surround the member 30, and makes thermal resistance between the base part 1 and the frame part 2 large so as to reduce the conduction of the heat generated in the lamp 9 from the base part 1 to the frame part 2.
