PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the connection of communication via only a single call setting operation by deciding the presence or absence of an idle talking channel from the contents of information received from a base station, and performing an automatic dialing operation when an idle talking channel is available. SOLUTION: When a signal is received form a base station, the idle channel information and other information are received as the BCCH. When a calling operation is carried out by a user, a dialing operation is tried. When the dialing operation is successful, the talking is started. When an automatic dial is set, the receiving of the base station signal is tried. When the base station signal is not received, an out-range notification is carried out. When the base station signal is received, the BCCH receiving is carried out. Then a radio channel using discrimination means 1 dials the opposite party that is previously set via an automatic dialing means 2 as long as a communication enable channel is available. When the dialing of the opposite party succeeds, this fact is notified to the user by a display setting/voice control means 3 in voices or via the displaying.
