MAGNETIC ELEMENT WITH IMPROVED MAGNETIC FIELD RESPONSE CHARACTERISTIC AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic element which is improved in magnetic field response characteristics. SOLUTION: A magnetic element is equipped with a first electrode 14, a second electrode 18, and a spacer 16. The first electrode 14 is formed of a fixed ferromagnetic layer 26 of first thickness t1. The second electrode 18 is formed of a free ferromagnetic layer 28 of second thickness t2. The spacer layer 16 of third thickness t3 is provided between the fixed ferromagnetic layer 26 and the free ferromagnetic layer 28. In this case, t1, t2, and t3 are so set as to satisfy a formula, 0.25t3<t1<2t3. By this setup, a magnetic field becomes nearly zero in intensity in the free ferromagnetic layer 28.
