PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly reproduce audio input signals in spite of a large level change in an audio recording/reproducing apparatus. SOLUTION: An analog audio input signal is amplified by an AVOL(n) at an analog volume part 21 when the (n) is a sampling number of a predetermined delimiter period. A digitally converted DATA(n) is recorded correspondingly to the AVOL(n) to an IC memory 27. When an A(n) is not smaller than a predetermined value HT, a next AVOL and afterwards at the analog volume part 21 are reduced by a predetermined amount MRG. A last sampling number of the predetermined delimiter period is set to be SNUM. In reproducing signals, the DATA(n) and AVOL(n) are read out in the order of numbers from the IC memory 27. Each of the DATA(n) is amplified by AVOL(SNUM)-AVOL(n) at a digital volume part 30 and outputted to a digital output terminal 12 or the like.
