PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the erroneous installation of a paper money bundle even if it occurs in a storage part and to prevent erroneous payment at the time of payment by permitting a control part to recognized the denomination of the paper money bundle with the means of recognition based on a picture pattern when a detection means detects the picture pattern on the surface of the paper money bundle. SOLUTION: A control part controlling the pay-out of paper money bundles in storage parts 227 to 229 is installed. A detection means 403 detecting picture patterns on the surfaces of the paper money bundles stored in the storage parts 227 to 229, the paper money bundle during payment and the paper money bundle which is paid out from the storage parts is installed. The control part has a recognition means recognizing the denomination of the paper money bundle based on the picture pattern detected by the detection means 403. The control part compares the picture pattern on the surface detected by the detection part 403 in the paper money bundle which is in a state where it is stored in a paper money bundle sensor case 227 and which is positioned nearest to the pay-out side with a reference pattern for paying out the paper money bundle. The recognition means recognizes the denomination of the paper money bundle.
