摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the observation and image formation of image information in a good state without parallaxes by adequately setting each set of the constitution of a display optical system for guiding luminous fluxes to the observer's eyeballs and an image pickup optical system for forming the image information of the outside word onto an image pickup element surface. SOLUTION: The optical axis 101a of the display optical system 101 and the optical axis 1c of the see-through optical system 103 as the optical axis of the image pickup optical system 102 are aligned by an optical path separating means 4 and is made coaxial with the eyeball optical axis 1a. Since the joint surface 4a of prism bodies 9a and 9c has a prescribed spectral transmittance characteristic, most of the wavelength mainly of, for example, <=550 nm emitted from a liquid crystal element 2 is mostly reflected and the observer observes the image information of the blue green formed on the liquid crystal element 2 as an enlarged image. Only the light mainly of <=550 nm of the light from the outside world is reflected and the outside world image of the blue green is formed on a CCD 3. The surface E3 and surface 4 of the prism body 9c and the surface E2 of the prism body 9a function as the see-through optical system 140 for the light of >=550 nm in wavelength as a whole.
