PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for driving a motor in which detection accuracy at the end of regeneration period can be enhanced. SOLUTION: The power converter for driving a motor comprises a circuit 21 for detecting the regeneration start timing, and a circuit 27 for detecting the regeneration end timing. A regeneration end decision means 1 males a decision that the circuit 27 has made a transition from regeneration to powering if a current value selected by a selector circut 23 after a regeneration start detection signal is outputted and averaged by an averaging circuit 24 is settled at 0 upon elapsing a predetermined time after it has exceeded a predetermined value and varied toward zero or the polarity thereof has changed. According to the method, detection accuracy of the end of regeneration period can be enhanced. |
