DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OFDM DEMODULATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for orthogonal frequency division multiplex(OFDM) demodulation with which symbols are synchronized to minimize the influence of interference between symbols even in the environment to generate a multipath. SOLUTION: An input signal is an OFDM signal composed of a transmission symbol composed of an effective symbol period and a guard period while containing a prescribed synchronizing symbol for each transmission frame. A correlator 105 finds the correlation of a signal generated by a synchronizing symbol generator 105 and the OFDM signal. A correlation quantity computing element 107 operates a correlation quantity from the found correlation. An integrator 108 integrates the operated correlation quantity with the guard period. A timing discriminator 109 discriminates symbol timing from the integrated correlation quantity. A fast Fourier transform(FFT) window generator 110 outputs operating timing of Fourier transform from discriminated symbol timing. Based on the output signal of the FFT window generator 110, the OFDM demodulator extracts the signal of the effective symbol period from the transmission symbol and demodulates it.
