PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently suppress reverse twisting (abnormal alignment) and to prevent defective display quality by keeping the difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures of the surface of a cell structure to a specified value or less in a cooling stage. SOLUTION: After an array substrate 11 and a counter substrate 21 are stuck with each other to form a cell structure 1, a liquid crystal material is injected to the cell structure and a injection port 31 is sealed. Then the cell structure 1 having the liquid crystal material injected is subjected to a re- alignment treatment. In the re-alignment treatment, heating by a hot-plate and cooling by a cold plate are executed. In the cold plate, variation of temperature of the surface of the cell structure 1 held between the cold plates, that is, the difference between the temperatures at a place where the cooling is the most delayed and at a place where the cooling is the most promoted is kept to be 30 deg.C or less, preferably 25 deg.C or less at all times from the beginning to the completion of the cooling.
