PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of an armature for enhancing shock resistance actual force value of a polar electromagnetic relay. SOLUTION: A polar electromagnetic relay includes a channel-shaped iron core, a coil, a permanent magnet, a see-saw type armature 5 supported on the oversurface of the permanent magnet and arranged, so that the two ends abut on the two opposing poles of the core, a movable contact spring 6 whereon a movable contact 8 is formed, and a stationary contact positioned opposing to the movable contact 8, where a rectangular groove 12 is formed at each arm part of the armature 5. Thereby the mass of the armature 5 is lessened to lead to prevention of momentary cut or inversion, when an impart force is applied.
