PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage controlled oscillator generating a carrier with microwave-millimeter wave frequency band that is immune to noise and offers stable oscillation. SOLUTION: The voltage controlled oscillator is provided with two transistors(TRs) 2, 3 where the output of one TR 2 (or 3) is connected to an input of the other TR 3 (or 2) via a capacitor C2 (or C3) to configure a commonly grounded differential amplifier. Variable capacitors 5, 6 controlled by a signal from a control terminal are respectively connected to inputs of the TRs 2, 3. The inputs of the TRs 2, 3 are connected together via an inductor L1. A bias current Ibias is supplied to a midpoint M of the inductor L1, from which the bias current is fed to the TRs 2, 3. A resonance circuit is formed by a reactance of the TRs 2, 3, the inductor L1, the capacitors C2, C3 and the variable capacitors 5, 6. |
