PURPOSE: The method for assigning channel cards in a BTS(Base station Transceiver System) having more than two channel cards of different service speeds is provided to minimize loads loaded to channel cards. CONSTITUTION: If a 13k data service request to a BTS is generated from a terminal(200), the BTS checks whether there is a data service available channel card requested by the terminal(210). If channel cards available for the 13k data service exist, the BTS inspects connection status by 13k channel cards(220). In case that the first 13k card is connected to 20 call paths and the second 13k card is connected to 15 call paths, the BTS assigns the second 13k channel card for the 13k data service request and connects the call path(230). Meanwhile, if there is no channel card for the 13k data service, the BTS assigns a 8k card(240).
