PURPOSE: A method for initially flowing current in an electric furnace is provided to easily and smoothly flow current in the lower electric rod and the upper electric rod. CONSTITUTION: A method for initially flowing current in an electric furnace (100) includes the steps of injecting scrap iron (E) into the electric furnace, forming ingot steel (A) in the bottom of the electric furnace by melting the scrap in the lower surface of the electric furnace, making the ingot steel flow into the circumference of electric rods (110,141), testing whether current flows in the electric rods, and supplying initial current to the electric rod, and supplying main current to the electric rod.
