PURPOSE: A wafer reader for reading a lock wafer is provided to conveniently insert the wafer reader into a key hole and properly maintain a drawing speed of the reader for preventing escaping of the reader from a guider, thereby precisely recording the shape of the wafer. CONSTITUTION: A wafer reader for reading a lock wafer includes a guider(10), a setting blade(50), a reader(60), a writing element(100) and a recording paper. The guider has a flat plate type body part(12), main guide parts(14) formed at both sides of the body part, an extension part(16) extended forwardly from the body part with a smaller width than the body part, auxiliary guiding parts(18) formed at both sides of the extension part, and an insertion part(22) extended from the auxiliary guiding parts forwardly to be inserted in a key hole of the lock. The reader has a guiding plate part(66) formed with a perforated part(64) and slidably coupled in the main guiding part of the guider, a supporting part(68) extended from the guiding plate part forwardly to be inserted in the key hole via the auxiliary guiding parts of the guider for supporting a pin of the key hole and having a cut part(68a) formed at a front end, and a probe(70) hinged in the supporting part of the guide plate to elastically rotate by a shaft(72) and a torsion spring(74).
