PURPOSE: To provide a power-saving facsimile machine by preventing power form being consumed by a heater by controlling the power source of the heater from a low power consumption mode to an output request. CONSTITUTION: When the notice of trigger detection is received by the facsimile machine 10 in a low power consumption mode (S11), a CPU 11 confirms and turns off the power source of the heater in a plotter 16 (S13), the standby state of power source OFF of the heater is set (S14), recording output such as the completion of storage of picture information into a store-and-forward(SAF) memory 21 is prepared, the output request for the start of recording output is waited for (S15), the heater of the plotter 16 is turned on when the output request comes (S16) and output operation is performed (S17).
