摘要 |
PURPOSE: Prostate boundary segmentation from 2d and 3d ultrasound images is provided to contour prostate in a fast semi-automatic manner using model-based initialization and an efficient DDC(Discrete Dynamic Contour) for boundary refinement. CONSTITUTION: A user initiates the process for contouring prostate by identifying four points on the prostate boundary, thereby scaling and shaping a prostate model, and then the final prostate contour is refined with a DDC(Discrete Dynamic Contour). A prostate contouring method has particular application during the pre-implant planning phase of a brachytherapy procedure. However, the method also has uses in any phase of dose planning in the brachytherapy procedure or any other therapy approach. |
