PURPOSE: A cathode-ray tube having a shadow mask is provided to restrict background radiation or proximity radiation in an area where light-radiation is not required according to a reflection reducing function of the shadow mask, thereby improving contrast and color purity in a target radiation area. CONSTITUTION: A cathode-ray tube(10) includes a shadow mask. A reflection reducing material layer containing at least one of aluminum, Al2O3, 3Al2O3-2SiO2, Li2-Al2O3-4SiO2, 3Li2O-7B2O3, Li2B4O7 and carbon is formed on the shadow mask. The reflection reducing material layer may be used as the material of the shadow mask. To reduce reflection of electron beams or radiating light incident on the surface of the shadow mask, the reflection reducing material layer may be formed in a foil shape.
