PURPOSE: A damper device in a microwave oven is provided to open and close the inlet port of the cavity precisely with a damper and to be simple structure. CONSTITUTION: A damper unit comprises an air duct(76) guiding cooling airflow to the cavity in an electric component chamber of a microwave oven, a damper(52) movably supported by the air duct and opening and closing the air duct, a driving motor(50) driving directly the damper, and a microswitch(60) detecting an open state or a close state by contacting with the side of the damper in turning the damper. The damper shuts off an inlet port(73) to prevent heat in the cavity from moving outward. The heat in the cavity is prevented from radiating by protecting the airflow(f) at a low temperature from flowing into the inlet port with the damper shutting off the inlet port.
