<p>A method for producing a photocatalyst flat glass which has a glass substrate and, formed thereon, an anatase type TiO2 film, characterized in that an aqueous solution of a titanic acid, preferably comprising peroxytitanic acid and/or ammonium titanium peroxocitrate hydrate, is sprayed on the surface of a glass ribbon, at a position between the exit of a float bath and the end of forming step in a production line by the float bath process, and the TiO2 film is formed by the use of the heat of the glass ribbon alone; and an apparatus for practicing the method. The method can be practiced in a continuous process and be used for producing a glass with TiO2 film having excellent photocatalyst activity, and in particular, for producing a variety of size of glass including a long flat glass. Further, the method can form a TiO2 film being optically homogeneous, and thus provide a high quality film being reduced in so-called iridescence and haze.</p> |
