摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device capable of performing optical reproduction with high sensitivity while using plasmon. SOLUTION: For this device, a light irradiating part 10 which converges laser beams 11 with a condensing lens 12 and makes the converged laser beams incident on an optical disk 14 on which information to be optically reproduced is recorded is provided. Moreover, a plasmon part which generates an electromagnetic field by being irradiated with the laser beams 11 and also which is arranged closely to the optical disk 14 is provided on an optical path reaching the disk 14 for the laser beams 11. A reproduction circuit for reproducing information from the disk 14 irradiated with the laser beams 11 by using the electromagnetic field is also provided for this device. Furthermore, a semispherical lens 13 for making the laser means 11 from the lens 12 indident on the plasmon part and the disk 14 by an proximity-field effect while making the wavelength of the beams 11 shorter than that of when the beams propagate in the air is provided for this device.
