PURPOSE: A method for displaying screen of a digital TV is provided to determine presence of digital TV signal accurately, to determine whether video decoding is executed, and to display screen. CONSTITUTION: The first process is to determine whether channel is switched. If channel is switched, the second process is to execute video mute function, to stop decoding of previous channel, and to detect synchronizing signal from a channel tuned currently. If the synchronizing signal is detected, the third process is to determine whether errors exist in digital stream. If errors do not exist in digital stream, the fourth process is to demultiplex digital stream, to decode stream, to display real channel number and to start video stream decoding. The fifth process is to determine whether the decoded video signal is normal. If the decoded video signal is normal, the sixth process is to turn off video mute function. If the synchronizing signal is not detected, the seventh process is to try channel tuning again and to detect digital stream. If errors exist in digital stream or the decoded video signal is abnormal, the eight process is to display no signal. |
