Artificial zeolites, which are expected to find new widespread applications, are expensive at present, since they are limited in the raw materials from which they are produced and in methods for their production. Provided is a method for producing an artificial zeolite which comprises charging a raw material mixture containing a law material for an artificial zeolite having been adjusted with respect to silica/alumina ratio and an aqueous alkaline solution into a pressure resistant reaction vessel and heating or pressing the mixture while applying an ultrasonic wave to it, or continuously introducing the raw material mixture to a reaction tube in which heating and application of an ultrasonic wave are simultaneously carried out under predetermined conditions, to thereby synthesize an artificial zeolite; and an apparatus for carrying out the method. The method can be employed for producing an artificial zeolite having a high and homogeneous quality at a low cost, utilizing as a law material a source being unused at present, such as fallen volcanic ejecta, incineration ash, waste glass, waste diatomaceous earth, aluminum dross, aluminum-containing waste liquor or a gramineous plant.
