PURPOSE: A conveyor of the SMD is provided to minimize the pick up time by moving the chip supplying cover from the front to the rear. CONSTITUTION: The conveyor(34) of the SMD comprises a tray(22) for supplying the printed circuit board(1), a picking head unit(30), a chip supplying part(38), a plurality of chip winding rolls(36), a picking head unit(30) having a mounter head(26) and an X-Y gantry(18), a plurality of chip supplying covers having the independent of degree of freedom, an actuator installed under the chip supplying covers, and a rotatable ball screw connected to the actuator. The actuator controls the chip supplying cover for moving from the front to the rear to minimize the pick up time.
