The gearbox has an input shaft connected to an output shaft via at least a first and a second sub-gearbox arranged in parallel with each other in the direction of force transfer, each with an engageable/disengageable frictional load coupling (2,3) actuated by coupling actuators and with at least one control unit (4) and at least one sensor unit. The sensor unit detects at least one characteristic parameter of the torques by the couplings and the control unit compares the sum of the characteristic parameters with a threshold value and initiates at least one safety measure if the threshold is exceeded.
