PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To occupy most of a screen area, without deteriorating the luminance of a screen or lowering picture contrast by providing an antireflection layer formed by using an optical pattern of its own screen. SOLUTION: This screen is a rear projection screen 39 coated with an area equipped with non-transmission and transmission properties with respect to light. A non-transmissible area 41 consists of a block antireflection layer 43 arranged on a front surface 44 of the television screen and makes the reflection of peripheral light low. A transmission area 45 is formed as a pinhole in the layer 43, and a shape of the pinhole is obtained by using an optical system of the screen 39 of its own. In such a case, a Fresnel lens 48 guides parallel beams to the screen 39. The light beams are made to diverge to an observer within a necessary observation angle by a lens in the screen. |
