PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a word newness decision device for deciding the newness of a word (the utility of being registered in a dictionary) on the basis of a relationship between word structural elements of a compound word. SOLUTION: A word newness decision device is constituted of a word structural element dictionary 13 for describing the syntactic nature of a word, a word structural pattern decision means 11 which analyzes an internal structure of an inputted word by using the word structural element dictionary and decides a predetermined relationship to which a relationship between word structural elements corresponds, and a word newness decision means 12 for deciding the newness of the word on the basis of the word structural pattern decided by the word structural pattern decision means. The word structural pattern of a word is decided by dividing an input character string into word structural elements and analyzing syntactic information of each word structural element and a co-occurrence relationship between each of the word structural elements and the newness of the word is decided by comparing the word structural pattern with the predetermined word structural pattern. It is possible to decide whether or not the word is a new word equipped with the utility of being registered in a dictionary by taking into consideration the relationship between word structural elements composing a compound word. |
