The building system is for producing walls and roofs and provides for sandwich components (2,7) with flat, wave-shaped or trapezoidally profiled outer shell of metal (3,8), a flat or profiled inner shell of metal (4,9) and a core (5,10) of plastic hard foam or mineral fibers. A specific seam geometry is used, i.e. tongue-and-groove connection (16), between the sandwich components.
