An electronic parts mounting device having a small-sized mounting head equipped with a number of work holders. A mounting head (16) movable horizontally between the upper region of a parts supply and the upper region of a packaging substrate includes a vertically movable plate (29) adapted to be vertically moved by a screw shaft (28), the screw shaft (28) being driven by an electric motor. The vertically movable plate (29) is provided with a plurality of pneumatic cylinders (35), and hollow shafts (23) having work holders (24) mounted on the lower ends thereof are vertically movable by the pneumatic cylinders (35). Thus, the individual work holders (24) will be vertically moved by a combined driving action of the electric motor and pneumatic cylinders (35).
