PURPOSE: A distributed DBMS(Database Management System) cache management method and the system are provided to load all the objects used in a database reader application program at a client DBMS cache when initializing the application program, and to release the locking inflicted on the objects so that it can enable a real time access to the database data when executing the application program. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises database writer application programs(23,24), a database(25) and database reader application programs(20,21,22). The database writer application programs(23,24) are non real time data management programs for reading the contents of the database(25) and updating the database(25). The database writer application programs(23,24) read and write the objects, and flushes the object cache to update the database(25). At this time an updated specification is generated and transmitted to the database reader application programs(20,21,22) via a multi-casting communication module(26). The database reader application programs(20,21,22), real time application programs, analyze the updated specification transmitted from the programs(23,24), and selectively reload newly updated objects.
