An opening (25), e.g. for a pocket is closed by a sliding clasp fastener (30). The pocket opening is defined by a cut-out having a central mainly straight part and two end sections extending mainly at right angles to the first part. The cut-out forms a flap (24) which covers at least part of the fastener. The flap is reinforced by a bias section glued to it. The fastener is also fixed by adhesive. The flap is positioned to protect the pocket opening against the weather.
