PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost, high-luminance and uniform-luminance surface lighting system even with large display size. SOLUTION: This surface lighting system can be provided with two light sources 4 because a light guide body 2 is a flat plate shape. Accordingly, the surface lighting system has a higher luminance than a conventional wedge- shaped light guide body for a single light source. By forming plural sectionally triangular projecting stripes 7 parallel to the light sources 4 on one of an emission surface 5 of the light guide body 2 and a reflection surface 6 opposite to the emission surface 5, light is emitted obliquely to the opposite sides to the light sources 4 with respect to the visible direction (the normal direction). Accordingly, the light guide body 2 can have luminance uniformity nearly equal to the wedge-shaped light guide body without forming the light guide body 2 by combining materials having different densities in spite of the flat plate-like light guide body 2, to reduce a cost and equalize a luminance. |
